What positive influence can you bring to The Streets Don't Love You Back Movement?
I came across your website today and read your mission statement. I was very moved by what I read because I too have a passion, purpose, vision, and mission of my own which is very similar. I am in the process of clarifying it and writing it down. It is my vision and mission for my business and the book I am writing. While I have never been a part of the "gang/thug/drug" lifestyle, I am well acquainted with abuse and the "prison" created for us by our environment we are born into. Having grown up with physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, and still living with the resultant states of depression, dysfunction, overwhelm, anxiety, as well as chronic physical pain (28 years of headaches and migraines), I have come to see my life and even my physical body as a prison from which there is no escape except through my faith, and living one day at a time. I am a survivor. I am getting ready to write my story. It is my vision and hope for my life to help others who have been through what I have, to share the hope and answers I have discovered along my own journey, and to share how I have grown strong because of it. I have personally known those who gave up, gave in, committed suicide, or remained abusers and victims and perpetrators, blaming all their choices on the world, while I learned instead how to be a victor and to overcome. I thank my God for bringing me through each day of my 54 years, to this point where I can reach out and begin to help others. I look forward to my future with hope, passion, and purpose, in spite of the daily difficulties and pains I still suffer. I am interested in following and supporting your vision in whatever way I can. God bless you all
