Prosecutor: K2 synthetic pot may already be illegal in Indiana

SOUTH BEND — A potential "game changer" emerged late Wednesday in St. Joseph County's new fight against synthetic marijuana. Local leaders say the herbal incense known as K2, Spice, Mr. Smiley or Mr. Dutch may already be illegal.

K2 is sold legally in gas stations and convenience stores across the area. South Bend Police have identified at least 11 stores selling the product in the city. Elkhart Police have identified at least 10 stores doing the same.

Nearly 40 Gang Members Indicted In Connection With Bronx Shooting

Dozens of alleged gang members were indicted Friday in connection with shootings and assaults over the past year in the Bronx, including a near-fatal shooting of a Bronx teenager last November.

The 160-count indictment was unsealed Friday against 38 suspected gang members. They will be arraigned on conspiracy, attempted murder, assault, illegal gun possession and drug charges.

Gangs on the rise here...

The presence of gangs is growing locally, Henry County Sheriff Lane Perry said Saturday, and he fears the problem will get worse if the community does not pull together to fight it.

The drive-by shooting that critically wounded a 10-year-old

ROYAL CITY, Wash. -- The drive-by shooting that critically wounded a 10-year-old boy highlights the gang problem in the Grant County town of Royal City.
