Angelo Barefoot Pookie White, Angelo “Barefoot Pookie” White an original gang member and co-founder of one of the biggest and most vicious street gangs in the world has turned his life over to Christ and is working day and night to destroy the monster that he helped to create.
Called by God to stop the gang epidemic and cease the killings in the streets, Angelo White now works with the City of Truth Ministries in Carson, California (under the leadership of Pastor Kirk Lewis), Safe Passage, Cease Fire (Los Angeles Unified School District) and other organizations in the community designed to cease gang killings. According to Angelo “It is a big task but God is bigger”.
Escaping death, stretches in prison and the battle scars to show for it, Angelo knows firsthand how to reach out and save today’s youth. Because he has “been there and done that” he has effectively implemented the gang truce in L.A. and has been called upon to diffuse volatile situations among the youth in Newark, New Jersey and other cities.

Angelo is now working harder than he did when he was a gang member to mentor and reach out to young men and women urging them to turn away from gangs, drugs and violence. Angelo’s efforts have been recognized and applauded by Los Angeles City officials, L.A. Unified School District and the L.A. Sheriff’s Department and LAPD gang units.
Angelo was recently featured on the National Geographic documentary The Bloods and the Crips: L.A. Gangs and he is finally publishing his memoirs and bringing his story to the big screen hoping that more lives will be touched and saved.
