Ga. Child Exploitation Suspect Arrested

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. (MyFOX ATLANTA) - Cherokee County investigators said they located and arrested 56-year-old Patrick Molesti Friday. The Woodstock man is suspected of attempting to purchase a 5-year-old child online.

Cherokee County Sheriff's Office investigators, with assistance from the United States Marshall's Office, United States Secret Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were able to locate Molesti.

After detectives located child pornography on Molesti's computer last week, he fled Cherokee County.

Investigators tracked Molesti to a location in Wyoming and learned he boarded a bus bound for Calgary, Canada Friday. Molesti was able to cross the border into Canada. At approximately 8:30 p.m., undercover agents with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police boarded the bus while it was on a fuel stop in Thunder Bay Canada. Molesti was taken into custody without incident.

This is no definitive time for when Molesti will be returned to Cherokee County.

Molesti is currently wanted for one count Sexual Exploitation of Children. Investigators said additional charges are likely.think
