Members of an Oceanside gang could be fined $1,000 for getting together in a group, flashing gang signs or wearing gang clothing, according to a gang injunction signed by a judge this week.
The order, which was signed Tuesday by Vista Superior Court Judge Aaron Katz, marks the second gang injunction against the city's Center Street gang, a multigenerational Latino gang associated with the city's Crown Heights neighborhood.
The first injunction against Center Street was issued in 2003, but injunctions become dated as "new players" become active, Oceanside police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Brandt said.
Oceanside police estimate the gang has 130 active members and associates. Including them, the city has about 1,000 gang members and associates, police say.
