the throw away kids networkThe Throw Away Kids Network is a prison outreach program to serve the needs of juveniles currently inside correctional facilities in the state of Florida. We believe we are called to LOVE, SUPPORT, and bring LIGHT and HOPE to this lost generation. This generation is IMPORTANT and VALUABLE to God and to us, as we help them search for meaning in life and something genuine to live for. We also believe that their talents and gifts are from God and can be used for God. It is our prayer that lives will be radically touched and changed by the music, speakers and outreach provided through The Throw Away Kids Network.

VISION:
Our vision is to reach kids while they are incarcerated, on the street or anywhere else. Many of them feel unloved, unwanted and have no where to turn. We want to provide them with the opportunity to learn and know God. Through our actions, we pray they see Jesus in us. Through our outreach to the community, we get rappers, bikers and motivational speakers – all of which have a Christian platform – to volunteer in visiting various juvenile correctional facilities. They help us in spreading the word of God and to show these children they are not forgotten. We pray that one seed can be planted to bring about a change in a kid's life. We thank God for all who are

coming along to help. GOD'S SPEED.

The Throw Away Kids Network

STATEMENT OF FAITH:
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten SON, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE.

For God sent not his SON into the world to condemn the world; but that the world THROUGH HIM might be saved.

The Throw Away Kids Network are the hands and feet of JESUS. We do not judge anyone and we seek to love and comfort this Throw Away Kid generation. We will continue to take a stand for CHRIST.

Our statement of faith is easy and simple. GOD LOVED US AND STILL DOES. WE MUST ACCEPT HIM AND HIS LOVE AND WE SHALL BE SAVED.

AMEN

The Throw Away Kids Network is a great way of pulling together and giving back to OUR youth who are less fortunate and/or have no guidance. Most of these kids just need to know that despite their early on mistakes/misfortunes that they are loved and as long as they GENUINELY want another chance...they deserve another chance to redeem themselves and their lives!

Just want to say I believe my book: What Really Happened To Me (Based on Some True Events) would be a great read for the youth in your program. Please consider ordering copies and thereafter using it as a therapy tool for them; possibly getting them to write what's called 'Reflection Papers'. Therapists and Program Director of Youth Centers within the Midwest have used my book, and found it to be very helpful during their group therapies.

The book can be ordered directly from my online bookstore: www.meafuentezbooks.org (if ordering 10 or more books please contact me for a even lesser price). The book is also available @ barnesandnoble.com and amazon.com if preferred; but the cost is a little higher than if ordered directly from my website.

The day my heart broke

She was an online role playing friend of my then 18 year old son.

She was from Arizona & most of the time she was homeless. She was no more than 20 years old.

She stood 6 feet tall & lanky framed. She had blonde hair & it was in a Mohawk cut.

She wore army fatigues & black army boots. Her back pack was her only possession.

She hitchhiked across country and ended up on my doorstep.

When she told me how she hitchhiked…I told her how dangerous that was (I sounded like my Mother, God rest her soul)!

She told me she could take care of herself & proceeded to show me the knives she was carrying in various places like her boots, her belt and the pocket on her shirt sleeve.

She used the computer at the library of whatever town she happened to be in. If she happened to be somewhere with a severe winter season, she spent the night at places like Denny’s, where she only had to buy a cup of coffee. She washed in public restrooms.  She befriended a guy, who invited her to stay with him only to find out he was also homeless & living in a van with 4 other guys. She stayed with them for many months before moving on again.

She did not know where her Mother was & did not get along with her Father.

I was heartsick with a tremendous burden for her & did not know what to do. I realized how inadequate & powerless to help I was. I took her to my Pastor’s house. Pastor told me to go next store to the church as some people were meeting there & maybe someone would feel moved to help.

Only one person, God rest his soul, made phone calls but because she was over 18 there were no agencies that could help. Pastor never came over to the church. My heart was broken & I realized my utter inadequacy with a weight I still carry today! I finally convinced her to try and reconcile with her Father & go to his house & get off of the streets. We have too many throw away kids & youth & very few organizations to help. After she left; I found out about The Covenant House & I donate to them today but what I can do does not make a dent & there are not enough of these organizations.

So please pray for our youth!

Thank you!

Jane Strauss
