Cameron Douglas, the son of Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas, has been sentenced to five years in jail on drug charges. The 31-year-old Master Douglas was arrested in July 2009. He then pleaded guilty to distributing large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine in January of this year.
Given Cameron's drug use and substance abuse, the judge filed that this was probably "his last chance" and that no more lenient sentence would be entertained at this time.
Cameron is the son of Michael and his first wife, former Studio 54 regular Diandra Luker--both his parents were present at the sentencing. His mother mouthed "I Love You" to him before the sentencing was announced.
The Douglas family has a history of alcoholism and drug abuse and Michael Douglas blamed this and his lack of good fathering for his son's problems. Do you think that this was a valiant thing to do?
