Cameron Douglas Sentenced In Drug Case Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past Los Angeles Premiere

Michael Douglas’ big name in Hollywood and lawyer based movies under his belt, couldn’t save his son Cameron Douglas from being sentenced 60 months in prison on drug charges.

According to NY Dailey News reports, Michael Douglas pleaded with the judge to save his son from spending time in prison. Michael’s pleas, according to Radar, included writing to Judge Burman to let him know jail time has sobered Cameron up and has done wonders over the past 8 months.

The 5 year prison time Cameron was slapped with is far less than what he could’ve gotten – 10 years! Maybe Michael’s famous influence had somewhat of an effect on sentence time. Famous or not, no parent wants to see their child behind bars no matter what.

Cameron did have this to say in court before being hauled away by security. He gave his parents Michael and Diandra one last apology: "I apologize to my family and my loved ones for putting them through this nightmare of my making,"

As the saying goes, “If you do the crime, you do the time.” Cameron was busted in August 2009 according to Radar Online reports, in NY for possession of crystal meth and $10,000 in cash as well as trying to mail drugs to a government informant. Cameron was also arrested in 1999 and 2007 in relation to drugs.

It’s no guarantee 5 years will turn Cameron around but the world is obviously watching. The pressure between his famous father and eye’s of the public could really make or break his next move when out of prison.think
